Award in CPR & First Aid

The Award in CPR & First Aid course provides learners with fundamental knowledge of first aid and cpr. The course focuses on recognizing hazards, assessing risks, applying suitable control measures, following safe systems of work, responding to emergencies and supporting a positive safety culture. On completion of this course, learners should be able to: Understand fundamental principles of first aid and cpr; Identify common hazards and understand their potential consequences; Explain basic risk assessment and hierarchy of control principles; Apply safe working practices and suitable control measures; Explain basic emergency response principles; Understand PPE selection, safety reporting and basic safety-management practices. Learners completing the Award in CPR & First Aid course should demonstrate an understanding of fundamental first aid and cpr principles, common hazards, risk-control measures, safe working practices, emergency response, PPE and basic safety-management requirements.
